b. Describe a person who has had an influence in you, and share with us why and/or how the person has influenced you.

The topic that I have chosen, is “a person who had an influence in you” and that particular person is my brother. In the recent years, I could feel and felt his care and concern that he has for me. Based on my memory, I first felt it when he was around the age of 20 (Year 2007). That was when I was going out to meet my friends, where he said “Hey, come home early”. Thus, I asked “Why?”. And his reply was “because you are a girl”. Then, I hurried off. That might perhaps not the first time he told me to come home early, but that was when I realized and felt his care and concern for me. Then again, he might not be the one who changed, but me, only to realized his care for me after so many years.

Then, he started influencing me. Previously, I had no intention of applying for the university. As the course I took in Ngee Ann Polytechnic, is IT based and more of programming, I felt it redundant to continue studying in an university as programming languages are similar, its syntax are available in the web and studying in university are costly and whatsoever. But he told me, he felt that my result can make it, even though I failed my CCA. That he wanted to enter the university but was rejected. That he hoped for me to cherish the opportunity of going to the university and graduate from it, honors or not. Thus, here I am, applying to an university.
